We’re extending the deadline

Spread the word – the deadline for SCINEMA 2020 film submissions has been extended!

Welcome back to another year of awe-inspiring science and brilliant films! We’ve extended the entry deadline until Sunday, February 9, which means you have almost an extra month to submit your films!

“We’ve received some excellent entries so far – and we know that December is usually an extremely busy period for everyone, so we feel that by extending the deadline we’ll be able to alleviate some of that pressure,” says Nicola Gaskell, Marketing Manager at The Royal Institution of Australia.

Last year, we announced new awards categories for SCINEMA film submissions, including a SCINEMA junior, Indigenous/First Nations award, best online film, and a social impact award.

“This year we’re really looking forward to seeing entries from junior filmmakers 17 years and younger as well as films that celebrate the voices and scientific endeavours of Indigenous and First Nations people,” says Nicola.

So, what are you waiting for? Please help us spread the word so as many people have the opportunity to showcase their science stories on the big screen.
