26 Oct Get inspired for SCINEMA Junior
Hear from SCINEMA Junior 2020 Winner, Caitlin Vass, on why you should make videos.
Last year South Australian student, Caitlin Vass, entered her short film Animal Therapy for the inaugural SCINEMA Junior award category – and she won!
The film explored how animals affect mental health in humans. Its use of hand drawn animations and voiceover helped convey her message in clever way.
To Caitlin, using video is a fun way to experiment with storytelling. With devices like phones and tablets, making films is more accessible than ever. When it comes to inspiration, she recommends finding a topic you’re passionate about.
With no entry fee for SCINEMA Junior, there’s nothing to lose!
SCINEMA Junior 2021 is now open
We appreciate that young people are able to see the world around them from a different perspective; we think it’s important that they take control of their future and their narratives. We also want to encourage them to (creatively!) get involved in the world of STEM. This is why we’ve created this award category specifically for junior filmmakers aged 17 years and younger.
Ahead of SCINEMA 2021, we have opened the Junior category ahead of the other categories to enable more young people to enter their films. Enter now!
The deadline for submissions is 13 February 2021.
